For the past 6 months or so, my Wine-emulated games were having this really annoying stuttering-echo — it sounded like a latency issue, very crackly, but where the sounds would repeat 2 or 3 times, also crackly.
Very annoying.
I read through all the forums and just couldn’t seem to figure it out. I chalked it up to hardware issues, I was having problems with my CPU and RAM anyways. But after correcting those hardware issues, I knew it had to be something else.
I figured it out, today.
Edit your /etc/pulse/daemon.conf
default-fragment-size-msec = 5
Mine was initially set to “10”.
Save, reboot, and then try it again. Worked for me!
